More WTS Documents Available
Posted by Foolish Tar Heel under Confessional, Contextualized Theology, Hermeneutics, Scholarship, Westminster Theological SeminaryWestminster has now made available further documents: the Historical Theology Field Committee précis and the Hermeneutics Field Committee précis.
Happy reading…
UPDATE: The document linked above as the “Hermeneutics Field Committee precis” is now the correct document. (The Westminster site had inadvertently posted a summary document at first.)

I visited the WTS site about an hour ago…The link has been fixed, and the December 2006 precis is now available. It also includes appendices, with statements by the Hermeneutics Field Committee regarding Scripture and Justification.

So, Stephen or other webmaster(s), could you please change the link that you titled “Hermeneutics Field Committee Precis” to:
http://www.wts.edu/uploads/images/files/Hermeneutics%20FC-Prcis-Dec06.pdf
Thanks.

“You and some others on faculty continue to plead for dialogue among us. With all
that has transpired since the publication of I&I, it seems to us that by now the terms of such dialogue in our midst should be clear.” (HTFC, 6)
Dialogue should occur on whatever basis possible, not merely under the auspices of the unnegotiable strictures of one bellicose group. I don’t see why the HFC guys are under any obligation to acknowledge the “validity and gravity” of the HTFC concerns. Why should the HTFC concerns be privileged? Why can’t, for example, their concerns remain their concerns that they must come to terms with eventually in their own good time in light of what contemporary biblical scholarship is producing?
